Center of interpretation of Carrer del Balç

El Carrer del Balç (the Balç street), which took part of the old town of the medieval city, represents a great example of the town planning in the XIV century. The street, narrow and winding, is easily adapted to a crag's shape with different stages and it runs under the porches raised between house and house in order to take profit of the space in the walled town. Located on the premises of an old house, the center of interpretations offers a montage of multimedia resources which values a unique local heritage, and, at the same time, it makes it possible to discover how Manresa was in the XIV Century: the world of guilds, oligarchys, and noble families of the city, how it was the daylife in a medieval street and the factors which made it possible to construct the Sequia canal. A history explained and personalized by the figure of the king Peter III the Great (King of Aragon), the great monarch who created the main Catalan institutions.
