Muntanya de Montserrat (Catalunya)
La muntanya de Montserrat (Catalunya) i el monestir benedictí de Montserrat, fundat en el segle XI, està situat en un Parc Natural 60 km a l’oest de Barcelona. La patrona de Catalunya, Santa Maria de Montserrat, és venerada al Santuari. La comunitat benedictina formada uns vuitanta monjos, està al servei del santuari des de gairebé mil anys. Es dedica a l’oració, al treball de recerca i ensenyament i a l’acolliment dels pelegrins fent d’aquest indret un lloc de retrobament, pregària i cultura.
A Montserrat també hi viu l’Escolania, el cor de nens cantors més antic d’Europa, que us ofereixen cada dia la Salve i el Virolai i un motet després de les vespres.

Obres d’artistes com Picasso, Dalí, Monet, Sisley, Degas i altres com Berruguete, Morales, el Greco, Caravaggio, Luca Giordano i Tiepolo.
Objectes representatius de les cultures de Mesopotàmia, Egipte, Xipre i Terra Santa, conjunt d’objectes litúrgics dels segles XV al XX, una bona mostra de l’evolució dels estils i les tècniques artístiques en el camp de l’ofebreria.

The mountain of Montserrat and the Benedictine monastery of Montserrat, founded in the eleventh century, is located in a natural reserve 60 km west of Barcelona. Santa Maria de Montserrat, patron saint of Catalonia,is venerated at the shrine. The Benedictine community made up of about 80 monks have been at the service of the shrine for almost a thousand years. They are focused mainly on praying, research work and teaching, and giving shelter to pilgrims making this place a place of reuinion, prayer and culture.
In addition to the monks, there is the Choir School, the oldest choir of boys in Europe, which offer daily the Salve Virolai.

Manresa
